Sausages sold at French supermarkets including Leclerc, Intermarché, and Super U have been recalled due to a risk that they may contain metal.

One batch has been recalled as a result of this concern, consumer website RappelConso.gouv.fr has warned.

The recalled product is the ‘Façon Charcutière’ sausages with Beaufort cheese, sold in packs of four, under the brand Socopa.

They are packaged in a mainly brown box. The box has a photo of sausages to the right, a Swiss flag logo, a Beaufort cheese wedge underneath the text, and a design of mountains at the bottom.

They were:

  • Sold from September 29 to October 8, 2022

  • Across France in the supermarkets Auchan, Leclerc, Intermarché, Super U, Franprix, and Houra

  • The health mark is FR 74.042.001 CE

There is a risk of metal objects being found inside the sausages, RappelConso said.

Anyone who has bought the sausages should not eat them, and instead either dispose of them or take them back to the original point of sale for a refund.

Refunds should be available until October 31, 2022. More information is available (in French) via the helpline on 06 87 72 96 76.
