UK nationals with second homes in France are not currently allowed into the country, but many of those who entered before a travel ban was established at the end of December are wondering if they can be vaccinated against Covid-19

Reader question: I am a UK national and arrived at my second home in France in July and due to complications with travel and Covid-19 I have stayed here. I am not resident in France. I have heard that the vaccination will be available to everyone, so does that mean I can get it too? I am 82 years old.

We have received many questions similar to the one above about the possibility of second-home owners in France getting a vaccination against Covid-19.

We put the question to France’s Ministry of Health.

A spokesperson said: “Foreigners on holiday in France are not eligible to be vaccinated in France.”

This includes second-home owners.

Everyone who is resident in France, even those not in the healthcare system, will be eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccination.
