What about passeport talent holders?

I have a French passeport talent residency card. If I visit London and then re-enter the EU via a country other than France can I show this to avoid EES registration? 

The EU states that EES will not apply to holders of residence permits and long-stay visas, so this should include your passeport talent card. 

You are entitled to enter the EU via another country other than France if you have been away from home so we expect that you will not need to be registered in the system if you show your card on arrival in the EU.
