Snow has disrupted travel across much of France, but reactions vary sharply by region. 

What brings Paris to a halt barely registers in Savoie however, except as a reason to reach for the skis.

High in the French Alps, heavy snow is less a crisis than a familiar winter companion to be enjoyed.

Facebook users have been quick to draw on the irony between the disruption caused by snowfall in much of France this week and the very different relationship with snow in Savoie.
