€9.4m won on one-armed bandit
Father-of-six scoops record jackpot with a bet of just €1.50 – and promises to give his children €1m each
A MAN has scooped a record jackpot of €9.4 million on a one-armed bandit.
The father of six from Vannes had gone into the casino at Port-Crouesty in Morbihan, Brittany and – after a few successes on the 50 centimes machines, where he won €300 – decided to try the Magic Jackpot Casino game, which links 300 different casinos across France.
He played just €1.50 and, seconds later, the machine started paying out... to the tune of €9,420,903. His win smashed the previous French record of €5,512,448, which had been won by a couple in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, Hautes-Pyrénées, last May.
The delighted 59-year-old retiree said he would give his children €1m each, take a six-month round-the-world tour and buy a Jaguar coupé.
