Allergy alert as pollen count soars

Red allergy alert issued across almost all of France as weather sends grass pollen levels soaring

HAY FEVER sufferers beware. The Réseau National de Surveillance Aérobiologique (RNSA) has put almost all of France on red alert for high pollen levels.

Only the Haute-Alpes has been spared. The risk level there is “medium”, compared to “high” in departments in South-east Corsica, Gironde, Loire-Atlantique and Brittany.

The risk is “very high” everywhere else, the RNSA said.

It described conditions right now as being “perfect for the production and dispersal of grass pollen”.

The RNSA’s Charlotte Sindt told BFMTV: “We assess the risk as five on a five-point scale across virtually all of France. Comparatively, from October to February, this risk is zero."
