Beaches closed due to confinement rule breaches
Several departments have closed access to their beaches today after noticing that the confinement rules were being breached and people gathering, often in groups, on the beach.
The préfectures of Occitanie, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Corsica banned access to all the beaches on the Mediterranean sea this afternoon.
Similar decrees have been enforced in the Nord, Morbihan, Vendée, Charente-Maritime, and Ile-et-Vilaine.
Corsica prefect, Franck Robine said: “Exemptions to go out must be for short trips, close to home. But it has been observed that on the beaches, there were gatherings, sometimes for several hours.”

He said the ban will apply until the end of the confinement period.
In Hérault, in addition to seaside beaches, access to the beaches on the banks of the Salagou artificial lake is also prohibited. In the Alpes-Maritimes, people are also not allowed to walk anymore in rocks and creeks.
Marseille yesterday banned hikers and joggers in the Parc des Calanques.
