French 'honour' their worst films

Jean Reno film L'Immortel voted worst film of the year and possibly of the decade

L’IMMORTEL, a film in which Jean Reno plays a Marseille gang boss who survives being shot 22 times, was voted "Worst Film of the Year and probably of the Decade" in the satirical Gérard awards.

Also "honoured" were Franck Dubosc and Jane Birkin, who were respectively given "no-hoper" awards for worst actor and actress.

Dubosc was named for his role in a comedy sequel set in a campsite on the Atlantic coast, Camping 2, while Birkin's Gérard was for the French road movie Thelma, Louise et Chantal.

Kill Me Please, about a voluntary euthanasia clinic, was given a special prize for a "French film brought out with an English title on the off-chance that it might be mistaken for an American one."
