Lorry drivers plan go-slow protests
Traffic jams could start to appear on motorways this morning as lorry drivers strike over retirement age
TRAFFIC jams are likely on parts of the French motorway network today because of a strike by lorry drivers.
A number of go-slow operations are planned, although the unions behind the protest have not revealed exact details.
The CGT and Force Ouvrière unions say the convoys will start "very early" today. Union branches are free to choose their own route and timing.
They are protesting against changes to their early retirement package, which means they must wait until 57 instead of 55 to stop work on a full pension.
