Wintry images from Vendée to Champagne

Snow adds a magical touch to French landscapes

Thanks to the Connexion readers who have shared photos showing the recent snowfall across France.

Several days of prolonged snowfall, as far south as Nouvelle-Aquitaine, has led to disruption for travellers - but has provided the backdrop for peaceful wintry scenes across the country.

Here we share some of our favourites.

B.M. showed frozen vines in the Cognac area this morning (January 7) following freezing temperatures overnight.

M.E. sent in a photo of the snowy fields of Vendée following snowfall on Monday night.

In nearby Vienne, K.H. took an early morning photo on Monday and said he had “never seen a hoar frost like it.”

Further to the east, I.C. showed the wintry scenes in Champagne following early snowfall over the weekend.

Looking further back before the New Year, R.F. benefitted from a White Christmas in the Maine-et-Loire.

Brittany saw rare coastal snowfall at the start of thisweek, as well as significant dustings further inland in Morbihan, as G.F. shared with us.

Following our first callout, L.S. sent in more snowy photos of the Vendée.
