Christmas 2025: festive concerts, carols and markets across France

From the first Advent carol services to festive markets and family shows, Connexion readers are preparing for a season of celebration.

Saturday, December 6

Christmas Fayre – Dinard (Ille-et-Vilaine 35) Join the festive celebrations at St Bartholomew’s Church with Christmas markets and traditional English carol services.

Sunday, December 7

Family Carol Service – Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) 

This English-language service resembles a UK or US Christmas Eve service, with Bible readings of the Christmas story and carols.

Contrepoint Christmas Concert – Coudray-Macouard (Maine-et-Loire) 

The 50-strong choir Contrepoint will give a free Christmas concert at the church in Coudray-Macouard at 4pm. The programme includes a wide repertoire in the first half, followed by traditional Christmas songs. All are welcome.

Thursday–Saturday, December 11–13

“12 Days of Christmas” seasonal sketch show – Parcoul (Dordogne) 

Bassinaud Players present their festive sketch show at Valentine’s Bar & Restaurant, 24410 Parcoul. Tickets are €10 each. Festive food including turkey, stuffing, cranberry brioche buns, roast potatoes, and pigs in blankets will be available for €12.50, or enjoy the show with a drink.

Friday–Sunday, December 12–14

The Adventures of Dick Whittington – Pomas (Aude) 

The Troubadours Brittanique of Limoux present this family-friendly pantomime at the Theatre in The Vines, near Pomas.

Saturday–Sunday, December 13–14

Christmas Markets – Charras (Charente) 

Enjoy indoor Christmas markets with around 17 stalls, festive food, live music, and a visit from Father Christmas with a free gift for children. Mulled wine and hot chocolate are also available.

Friday, Wednesday and Thursday, December 13, 24 and 25

Christmas Services – Dinard (Ille-et-Vilaine) 

St Bartholomew’s Church will hold English-language Christmas services for the holiday season.

Sunday, December 14

Traditional Christmas Concert – Evron (Mayenne) 

The Cantate Domino Choir with Orchestre de l’Espoir perform music by Handel, Corelli, Adam, and more in the historic Basilica in Evron at 16:00. Entry is free, with the opportunity to make a donation on leaving.

Saturday, December 21

Christmas Carols – Belvès (Dordogne) 

Join the local community for festive carols in Belvès.

Sunday, December 21

Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols – Royat, Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) 

Christ Church, Clermont-Ferrand, the English-speaking Anglican church, will hold its Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at 17:30 at 1 bis Avenue Jean Heitz, 63130 Royat. 

The service will be followed by festive refreshments, including vin chaud and mince pies. More information on Advent and Christmas services is available on the church’s website or by email.

New year panto - Eymet (Dordogne)

 This year's show is The Wizard of Oz (in English), with adult tickets priced at €15 and €10 for children.
