François Lenne, 30, of Le Meurice, Paris, was named International Receptionist of the Year by the jury chaired by Gautier Py, front of house and quality manager at the Méridien Etoile in Paris.

Elsewhere, Danilo Pas-ino of the Ecole Française de Pizzaiolo in Cap d’Ail is the best in France at pouring beer.

Mr Pasino won by pouring perfect demis – 25cl of beer with the regulation two fingers of head mousse – in the finals at the Agecotel hospitality industry expo in Nice.
