What is the correct visa choice for a long holiday?
In terms of visas there is no difference between spending time at a second home in France or staying at a hotel
My husband tried to apply for a temporary long-stay visa on the French government site. However, apart from establishing we needed a visa we were not able to progress because the options regarding purpose and intention did not have any ‘holiday’ type options. Can you help?
You do not specify the type of ‘holiday’ you planned to take, however in terms of visas there is no difference between spending time at a second home in France or staying in a hotel, campsite, B&B or rented flat etc.
In all these cases, assuming you want to be able to stay three months or more, you would click that you want a long-stay, that the ‘place of submission’ of the application is the United Kingdom and the destination is France. You would choose the ‘visitor’ option and ‘visitor (adult)’ as the purpose of the stay
