Annex pages

There are six more forms that may apply to you

The annex forms can be downloaded via a search at impots.gouv.fr and must be completed where they apply to you.

You need to list various items on them, depending on the form, and enter totals in boxes at the bottom which are labelled according to the box on the 2042-IFI to which the amounts must be carried over.

The forms include:

Annex 1: Professional property

If you own property exempt from your taxable wealth for IFI because it is a professional asset, according to the conditions set out on page 9, you give details of your exemption entitlement here.

The first section is for where your exemption is due to the fact that the asset is related to your main work.

This can be as a sole-trader business (entreprise individuelle), a société de personnes (simple form of company with ownership by the associates).

It can also include being a gérant (manager) of other forms of company under set conditions (eg. where you are the majority shareholder of a SARL company).

The income from this work must be more than half of your professional income to qualify under this heading.

You need to select boxes to declare your role and give details of the business, including its Siren (business identification) number.

The second section is for declaring exemptions related to certain other posts in companies, where the income is more than half of your work income and you have substantial share ownership.

Insert in the final columns the percentage of the capital that you own personally or that is owned by your 'family group', which comprises your spouse or partner (civil or informal but living with you in a stable relationship), children and other descendants, parents and other ascendants, brothers and sisters, and the same relationships for your spouse/ partner.

There are columns for direct ownership and for ownership via an intermediary Company.

Annex 2: Property you own directly

This is for listing buildings and land that you own directly and which are not considered exempt for professional reasons.

On the first page enter the date and price of purchase, the nature of the property, its address and its 'characteristics'.

In the case of buildings, indicate the square metre size of the plot and that of the 'habitable/usable' area, plus the number of rooms. For unbuilt land, give the square metres.

The 'nature' could include immeuble bâti à usage industriel/commercial/artisanal/ agricole/de professional libérale, or d'habitation (building with an industrial/commercial/artisanal/agricultural, liberal professional, or residential use).

The 'nature' could also include eg. un immeuble en cours de construction (building under construction), or a property 'right' such as usufruit or droit d'usage.

Buildings or parts of buildings owned via an SCI can also, in some cases be listed under this heading, where the SCI is solely set up to divide up a copropriété (shared ownership, eg. block of flats) building, for the owners to have the use of.

The next column relates to 'mixed property', where part is used for work and can be considered professional, and part is not.

Enter the percentage that is non-exempt.

Enter current market value in the columns depending on type of property (for a main home this is after a 30% abatement), whether buildings or land.

There is a column to indicate the nature of your rights if you do not have full legal ownership.

Add the columns and check that the totals are carried over to the main 2042-IFI in the relevant boxes.

The second page is for other types of land, including woods, shares in groupements forestiers, and agricultural holdings that you rent out on long leases.

Annex 3: Property you own indirectly

This is for listing shares you own in relevant companies, to the percentage that represents taxable property (including any held in assurance vie rachetable or a contrat de capitalisation).

Annex 4: Liabilities and other deductions

Enter here the amount of deductible debts that were due on January 1, 2025.

There is a column for debts related to work on taxable properties, and a column for other deductible amounts.

Annex 5: The plafonnement

This is for working out the plafonnement

This is only relevant if you think your tax household's IFI plus French and other taxes for income and capital gains in 2024 come to more than 75% of your worldwide income and any capital gains net of deductible expenses and deficits. This includes income exempt from income tax or CGT.

The section for listing income includes, if relevant, a column for separating incomes of people who are in your tax household for income tax but not wealth tax (eg. dependent disabled adults and adult children that are attached to the household).

The calculations on the first page give you the figure to put in 9PR on the 2042- IFI (taxes due on 2024 income) and those on the second page give you a figure for 2024 incomes to insert in box 9PX.

Annex 6: Foreign wealth tax

Insert details of any foreign taxes of a similar kind paid on property abroad accessible to IFI. They are deductible up to the amount of the French IFI due.
