As popular France 3 TV show returns to our screens, see which village is carrying the flag for your region
Voting has opened to decide France's Favourite Village 2021.
Every year, TV presenter Stéphane Bern visits 14 villages in France - one from each of the 13 regions of mainland France plus one from overseas, with each being given seven minutes of screen time to showcase why they should win the title Village Préféré des Français.
Last year, the prize was won by Hunspach, and its timber-framed houses, in the Bas-Rhin.
But pretty vistas are not the only thing the France 3 show discovers. It also examines each place's heritage, gastronomy and crafts.
Speaking at the time of the Grand-Est village's win, tourism officer and municipal deputy of the village, Sylvie Heiby, told Connexion: “We did not expect to win.
"It was already an honour to be in the list of villages in competition but winning comes as a surprise. We are very happy and we will host new people visiting as we have always done.”
Voting for the 2021 title opened on March 4 and runs until 18:00 on March 25.
