'Spare dose' vaccination appointments will be open to all adults from May 12. Here is a quick look at the latest dates for France's Covid vaccine timeline.
This article was updated from the original published March 3, 2021.
France’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign began on December 27, 2020. The first to receive the vaccine were elderly patients in care homes, alongside their employees.
France’s vaccination campaign is expanding, with all over 50s eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccination from Monday (May 10). They are able to book appointments from today. Only people aged over 55 are eligible for the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Everyone younger than this will receive either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines.
From May 12, all adults, regardless of their health situation, will be able to book a last-minute Covid-19 vaccination appointment if there is one available for the following day.
The chart and timeline below show when you can expect to receive your vaccine according to your age group. You can find more information on how to book your vaccine if you are in an eligible category on our Covid-19 vaccine in France FAQs page.
More than 15 million people have received at least a first dose of a Covid-19 vaccination.
Information on booking a vaccine appointment at a centre near you can be found on sante.fr. You can also arrange an appointment on booking platforms, Doctolib.fr, Maiia and Keldoc.
