68% oppose more aid to Greece

A survey shows most people are against plans to lend another €15 billion to Greece

SIXTY-EIGHT per cent of people in France are opposed to plans to lend an extra €15billion to Greece.

France has signed up to an aid package which will see its debt increase by €15 billion by 2014 – money which 87% of those questioned in a survey by pollsters Ifop for Ouest France said France would “never see again, because Greece will never be able to pay it back”.

A total of 84% thought that if the Greek debt was not brought down “the difficulties of the Eurozone will grow dangerously”.

Even so, only 32% said they approved of the latest bail-out plan.

A study was done among a representative sample of 1,009 people aged 18 or over, by an online questionnaire.
