NEW rules come into force next month governing financial firms which offer debt consolidation (rachat de crédit) - this is when you take out one loan in order to pay off a number of others, ideally with a favourable interest rate. Firms offering this must now provide a clear information list detailing the nature of the loan, the amount and period of repayments and conditions relating to early repayment.
