The requirements for the application are clearly set out on the website and in various translations.
The primary objectives, perfectly reasonable, are to establish that you lived in France uninterruptedly for five years, that you can support yourself and have medical cover.
We created our dossiers, originals with photocopies of everything required, were seen promptly, treated courteously and efficiently, and received our cards within three months.
I suspect a much better and easier outcome than those poor folk having to deal with the chaotic and antagonistic UK Home Office.
