With reference to “Revert to type” (December) why not do what I did – buy a French AZERTY keyboard and re-configure your PC? Then you have all of your accents at your fingertips. You soon get used to it but may have to check your “A”s & “Q”s to start with!

In Windows 10, for a physical keyboard, download the “Dutch, NLD” keyboard which puts accents on vowels by pressing ‘ or ` before pressing the vowel.
