Speed is not the danger on French roads
I read with interest, and glee, that drivers who hog the middle and/or the outside autoroute lanes will be fined.
The government also has the 80kph limit, all in the name of preventing accidents.
However, speed reduction does not always equal fewer accidents.
Don’t get me wrong, speeding does go a certain way towards this but the biggest reason for accidents is dangerous driving.
Of course, it is difficult to catch these drivers and it is far easier to catch speeding on cameras to help boost the government coffers.
