Bear cubs thought killed in French Pyrénées
Two bear cubs born in the Hautes-Pyrénées in January are thought to have been killed by a male bear seen following their mother.
The cubs have not been seen since May 1. Their mother, Sorita, was re-introduced to the area last year and has been seen being followed by a male.
It is common for males to kill the cubs of another male as without babies the female can come into heat again.
