Carrefour dried ham recalled across France due to listeria risk

Supermarket chain Carrefour is recalling a batch of dried ham products to its stores across France because the meat may contain listeria.

The ham is sealed in a plastic packet weighing 80g, and comes from the Carrefour Bio range.

The products being recalled are from batch number 210152561, with the GTIN number 3560071081898. The use-by date is October 16, 2022.

If you have bought this product, which was sold between July 19 and July 22, you should not eat it, but should take it back to the shop for a refund.

The recall procedure will last until August 31.

Listeria bacteria can cause an infection called listeriosis, which has an incubation period of up to eight weeks.

Serious forms of the infection can be particularly dangerous for pregnant women, unborn babies, the elderly and immunosuppressed patients.

Anyone who has consumed the ham concerned by the recall and who later experiences symptoms including a fever, a headache or muscle aches should go to their doctor and tell them about what they have eaten.
