The Guy Savoy 5oz €500 fried-egg gold coin, at top, sells for €10,920 while the gold egg-shaped 1oz €200 coin sells for €2,225. Pièce de résistance is an 8.5cm rose gold fondue pot, weighing 1kg with white and yellow gold egg for €130,000.
Egg coins honour No1 world chef
The Monnaie de Paris mint has produced gold and silver coins in the shape of eggs and with a fried egg motif as a tribute to Michelin chef Guy Savoy whose restaurant at the mint was named best in the world.
