Eurostar offers €39 France-UK tickets in flash sale
50,000 international cut-price train tickets available
A flash sale of Eurostar tickets between London and Paris from €39 each way begins today (January 16).
The Eurostar Group, which manages both the Eurostar and Thalys trains, announced the sale today. It will run until next Monday (January 22).
The tickets cover the period between January 24 and March 27, with 53,100 discount seats available.
The knock-down prices are available for routes run both by Eurostar (between London, Paris, and Belgium), as well as on Thalys routes (including trains running from Germany).
Tickets between Paris and London start from €39 but cheaper tickets between Paris and Belgium (€29) ,the Netherlands (€35) and Germany (€32) can be found.
They are available from the official Eurostar website (where tickets for Thalys trains can also be purchased).
The flash sale comes less than a month after a surprise strike by Channel Tunnel workers over bonuses led to travel chaos just before Christmas.
Both Eurostar and Eurotunnel services were unable to use the tunnel connecting the UK and France for several hours, and left thousands of travellers temporarily stranded.
Trains leaving London were also cancelled on December 30 after a tunnel beneath the Thames flooded.
