Applications are now open to become one of the 45,000 volunteers at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics Games.
Here is how to apply.
What criteria do I have to meet to be a Paris 2024 volunteer?
To register, you must meet three criteria: speak either French or English fluently; be at least 18 years old on 1 January 2024 and be available for at least 10 days while the Olympics (July 26 to August 11, 2024) and Paralympics (August 28 to September 8, 2024) are taking place.
How will volunteers be chosen?
Organisers will choose applicants whose profiles match what they are looking for, with an emphasis on “parity” and “diversity”, according to Tony Estanguet, a three-time Olympic champion and president of the Paris 2024 Organisation Committee.
What kind of roles will Paris 2024 volunteers fulfil?
Around 60% of volunteers will welcome the public, including the media, while 35% will help out with sporting events. The final 5% will focus on logistics, such as giving out uniforms and accreditations.

What will be expected of Paris 2024 volunteers?
Volunteers will work, on average, about eight hours a day, with at least 11 hours off between shifts and one day off per week. Meals and local transport costs will be covered, but volunteers are expected to find their own accommodation. Working as a volunteer does not give access to Olympic events unless you are working near the athletes.

How do I register to be a Paris 2024 volunteer?
To apply to be a volunteer, register your details here and then fill out an orientation questionnaire, which will help organisers work out which role would suit you best.
Candidates will then be given a list of roles and told how compatible they are with each one. Prospective volunteers can then choose the positions they are most interested in. Alexandre Morenon-Condé, planning and HR director of Paris 2024, said this will ensure candidates are only chosen for “the roles they are interested in”.
Prospective volunteers will be asked for their availability, both before and during the events, as well as where and why they wish to volunteer.
You can also register on this site to be one of the 5,000 volunteers the city of Paris is recruiting to help with Olympic-related events.
What is the timetable for applications?
Applications can be made from Wednesday, March 22, until Wednesday, May 3.
Candidates, whether successful or not, will be contacted in the autumn.
