Covid France: How many vaccine doses in my department?

In many areas of France, people eligible for the vaccination are struggling to get appointments due to a shortage of doses

*This article was originally published on January 29 and has been updated from the original to include a table of vaccine doses remaining in each region using the latest government figures and to update the graphs showing the number of people vaccinated in France.

Reader question: I have tried a few times to book a vaccination appointment but every time it says the centres near me do not have any doses. Is this true? The government should be making these figures public. How do I find out how many doses there are in my department - 56, Morbihan?

France’s Covid-19 vaccination campaign has been hit with several hurdles in recent weeks, including a disruption to the delivery of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines and a contractual dispute with AstraZeneca

This has led to a shortage in doses at many vaccination centres around the country.

It is possible to find out details about how many vaccine doses have been delivered to each department and how many are left. The government publishes Covid-related data on its website www.data.gouv.fr/.

By following this link, for example, it is possible to see a breakdown of Covid-19 vaccination data by region or department.

It should be noted that the data is not updated regularly.

The below table shows how many Covid-19 vaccine doses, and what type, are remaining in each of France's regions, using the latest government data available.

Another way to track France’s Covid-19 vaccination rollout is through the website CovidTracker

The privately run website uses official numbers provided by the government to create easy-to-understand graphs and tables.

The graph below, taken from the website, the percentage of people in each region of France who have received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccination (date: 12.02.21).

The table below shows the number of people who have received one dose of a Covid-19 vaccination by region (date: 12.02.21)
