Travel via another Schengen country
Residency card holders can travel freely within Schengen without extra registration
Are residency card holders concerned if travelling out of or back into France via a different Schengen country?
No, people who hold a visa and/or residency permit for France or another Schengen area country should not have to be registered into EES or apply for Etias even if they leave or enter via a different country from the one where they live.
This is because they have an automatic right to live in their EU country of residence as well as to transit through other Schengen countries on their way to or from this country.
