A 1935 Aston Martin Ulster is the star lot at a prestigious classic car auction to be held by Bonhams at The Grand Palais in Paris this month.

The classic car, valued at between €1.6-€1.8million, raced at the 1935 Le Mans 24-hour race and was fifth in its class.

It is still roadworthy and if you were to become the lucky owner you would be eligible to enter it into all the historic motor sports events - including Le Mans and the Mille Miglia.

The collection of vehicles on sale spans more than a century of classic cars from all over the world.

Another British classic on the podium is a 1957 S1 Continental Cabriolet, first owned by Greek shipping magnate George Embiricos, which is expected to go for between €1-1.5M.

There is also a 1985 Audi Quattro Sport SWB Coupé (€330,000-€400,000), a 1923 Bugatti Type 27 Brescia Torpedo (€380,000-€540,000) and a 1934 Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara Spider (€550,000-€750,000).

The sale takes place every February to coincide with Retromobile, a week-long classic car event at the Porte de Versailles in Paris - which has stands for cars, clubs, spare parts and experts on hand for all those who dream of or who own such a car.

Bonhams says the public are welcome to attend their auction even if they aren’t going to buy and they encourage enthusiasts to come along and share their passion for cars.
