The Conflent Tales
A secret guide to an undiscovered French paradise
The Conflent Tales – Norman Longworth, €13.63, Independent
This looks a bit daunting at first with densely packed pages, printed to the edge of the paper, and promises to be ‘anything but’ a standard travel guide.
It is an ode to Conflent, a paradise the author is certain will become the next Dordogne, or Provence.
After a bit of acclimatising to the writing style – styles, as Mrs Longworth joins in with what she readily admits is her ‘less pretentious’ writing – you could settle down to enjoy this snatch of French catalan life.
