80% of executives 'are tired of Paris - and looking for a new life'

EIGHT out of 10 executives living in Paris dream of giving up the capital in favour of a new life in the regions, according to a survey.
Bordeaux came top of the high-earners' favourite places to relocate, followed by Lyon and Nantes. A total 56% of those polled said they would happily move to the capital of Nouvelle Aquitaine for its climate and proximity to the sea.
France's second city was close behind, with 52% saying they could see a future life in Lyon, due to its work opportunities'; and 49% said 'dynamic' Nantes would also be a better place to call home than the capital.
More than half of those surveyed said they would be accept a pay cut to move out of Paris, and 48% said they would consider a change of career if it helped them leave.
Most blamed transport problems (70%) and the high cost of living and renting property (56%) in Paris as the main reasons they wanted to leave. More than a third (36%) said they were looking to move out within the next 12 months.
Half said the cost of living in Paris was too high, and 19% didn't feel 'safe', according to the representative survey of 3,689 executives for Cadremploi.
