Boa causes panic on TGV train

A two-metre snake shocked passengers after escaping from a travelling case

A BOA caused panic in a Paris to Marseilles TGV train after escaping from its cage.

The 1.85m, 25kg female slithered between passengers’ feet before taking shelter inside heating ducts.

The ticket inspector, alerted to the escape by the snake’s owner, called the emergency services.

The marins-pompiers (deployed mainly in military bases and in Marseille) were called at Marseilles Saint-Charles station.

It took them an hour to dismantle parts of the carriage interior and get at the boa – which was asleep. Its owner then took it home with its companion, an 80cm male.
