Burger King offers 4,000 jobs a year
Fast food chain confirms massive expansion and pledges to become one of France's biggest recruiters
AMERICAN fast food chain Burger King has announced plans to create 4,000 jobs a year in France - starting this year.
The group is looking to expand rapidly and open 400 restaurants within the next decade, after returning to France in November 2013 following a 15-year absence.
The chain, which has more than 12,000 restaurants worldwide, left in 1997 after failing to keep pace with the rapid expansion of rival McDonald’s.
Burger King has now launched a dedicated recruitment website - and has pledged to become "one of the biggest job creators in France", targeting a 20% share of the growing burger market.
The majority of contracts will be permanent CDIs. Among the outlets due to open this year are Clermont-Ferrand, Strasbourg and Toulouse.
The first ones to open in 2013 were at Marseille airport at the Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris.
