Bypass must not harm flowers
Work on a bypass road has resumed after being forced to stop for three months due to the discovery of some rare purple flowers along the route.

Construction work for the Jargeau bypass must avoid the precise spot where the flowers grow but can continue, the prefect of the Loiret said. Corydalis solida (fumewort), above, is rare in the Centre Val de Loire region, so is designated a protected species there.
