The supermarket giant hopes to become more competitive

More than 270 Carrefour stores face closure and 79 transferred to franchise management in plans to cut €2 billion in costs and make the company “more productive and more competitive”.

Carrefour City, Contact and Contact Marché shops are concerned and about 2,400 head office jobs will also go.
