Cheques still have their fans

FRIENDS think that I am a peculiarity because I use a chequebook to pay my share of the restaurant bill. The others scramble trying to put together the correct money from notes and coins – I simply fill in the cheque, which is widely accepted in France.

I had my wallet stolen in the Paris Metro recently and this required an immediate cancellation of cards. I could still pay for items, as I had my chequebook. Is that enough reason to keep them?
