France’s national curfew was pushed back two hours this week and is now in place between 21:00 and 06:00.

The exemption form (attestation de déplacement) that people need to complete if they need to go out during these hours has been updated.

You can find the form on the government’s website here – in French or English – or through the track and trace phone application Tous Anti Covid.

There are still six permitted reasons for going out during the curfew:

  • Professional reasons: Travel between your home and place of work, education or training; business travel that cannot be postponed; travel to participate in tasks of general interest at the request of an administrative authority
  • Health: Travel for consultations, examinations or check-ups; travel for vaccinations; travel for care or treatment that cannot be provided remotely; travel to purchase medication or products relating to health
  • Compelling family reasons: Giving assistance to vulnerable people, the elderly or children; travel to assist people with disabilities
  • Judicial or administrative summons
  • Long-distance travel: Going to airports, train stations, bus stations as part of a long-distance journey
  • Pets: Short walks with pets, within a maximum of one kilometre from your home
  • France’s national curfew is due to be pushed back again on June 9 to 23:00. The government plans to remove it entirely on June 30.
