Dating tale is so true

SAMANTHA Brick’s observations: “Dating a French man is a full-time job” (Connexion, May) about a Frenchman’s attitude to love and to a new girlfriend were very well put. I first met my Frenchman, mon ami Pierrot, in 1995 and the courtship went very much as described. I tried living with him – impossible, he’s too controlling – so now we live next door to one another and meet each evening at 19.00 for apéros and I give him a listening ear. That’s how to keep a French-man happy – listen to him – oh, and regularly congratulate him on what he has done at work and home.
