EasyJet announces another new route from France to the UK
The airline will launch twice-weekly flights from La Rochelle to Southampton in 2027
EasyJet is to launch a new direct route between La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) and Southampton next summer, the airline has announced.
Flights will start on May 29, 2027 and operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flight time is around one hour 20 minutes.
One-way fares start from around €50 per person, subject to availability. Tickets went on sale on October 15 via EasyJet’s website and app.
Gateway to the south of England
The route is exclusive to EasyJet and adds to the airline’s existing UK links from La Rochelle to Bristol, London Gatwick and Manchester.
It also works the other way, giving British holidaymakers a direct route to La Rochelle and the Atlantic coast, known for its beaches, sailing and historic old port, without going via Paris.
“These two new routes from La Rochelle reflect our belief that regional connectivity is a key driver of attractiveness and economic development,” said Reginald Otten, EasyJet’s deputy general manager for France.
The airline is also launching a domestic route between La Rochelle and Nice from April 9, 2027, flying on Mondays and Fridays with fares from around €45.
The two openings take easyJet’s routes from La Rochelle to seven destinations: Bristol, Geneva, London Gatwick, Lyon, Manchester, Nice and Southampton.
Record year for La Rochelle airport
La Rochelle–Île de Ré airport handled 303,669 passengers in 2025, its third record year in a row. Traffic was up 3% on 2024 and 30% on pre-Covid 2019.
Links to the UK will be strengthened further in 2027 with the arrival of Jet2, which is set to fly to La Rochelle from Birmingham and Manchester.
Latest in a string of new UK routes
The La Rochelle announcement is the latest in a series of new France–UK routes unveiled by EasyJet for summer 2027.
In September, the airline announced three new links between France and the UK: Bastia to Manchester, Ajaccio to London Gatwick and Montpellier to Bristol. A new route from Biarritz to Málaga was also added.
Earlier this month, easyJet also confirmed it will fly twice a week between Rennes in Brittany and London Luton during July and August 2027.
