Low-cost airline easyJet has announced nine new routes from French airports for the winter 2026 season, including a number of domestic connections and a new UK route.

Despite uncertainty over summer flights due to jet fuel shortages, the airline is looking ahead to the next season with the hope that the sector will be back to normal.

Alongside domestic flights, connections to warmer winter climates are also a highlight, giving French residents an opportunity to benefit from some winter sun.

Morocco, Spain, Egypt, and Southampton

Three new flights have been announced from Bordeaux: Malaga and Gran Canaria (Spain), as well as Agadir in Morocco.

From Nantes there are routes to Essaouira (Morocco) and Brussels (Belgium).

A new route between Nice and Cairo airport has been announced, as well as a domestic route to Lyon.

A second flight to Cairo from Paris-Charles de Gaulle will also be introduced.

Finally, a flight between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Southampton airport has been announced, flying twice per week on Thursdays and Sundays from the end of October to March.

It will complement a service between the southern UK city and French capital, which is summer-only and ends in October.

“With these new routes, easyJet continues its commitment to better connectivity across France,” said EasyJet’s Reginald Otten, quoted in Air Journal.

“We are strengthening and diversifying our offerings… securing new traffic rights to Cairo marks a key milestone: it allows us to offer this iconic and highly anticipated destination from two French cities for the first time.

Tickets for all routes are now available on the easyJet website.

Prices are less likely to be impacted by fuel shortages than upcoming summer routes, but early booking is advised in case of fluctuations.

Growing French market

France is becoming an increasingly important area for the low-cost carrier, particularly as rival Ryanair starts to pull out from certain airports.

EasyJet maintains six French bases at Nice, Nantes, Paris Orly, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Bordeaux, and Lyon, accounting for the vast majority of its scheduled flights.

Despite cutting its Toulouse base in 2025, it still flies some routes from the southern city.
