An increase in the number of ferry services between Dunkirk and Rosslare (Republic of Ireland) is scheduled for September 2026, operator DFDS has announced.
Two additional roundtrip sailings per week will be included, bringing the total number of crossings between the two ports to seven.
Currently, trips are offered on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and take just under 24 hours.
The additional services will be made possible by the introduction of a third ship sailing on the route.
“The expansion of this service reflects the continued growth in trade and tourism between Ireland and Europe,” said DFDS route director Owen Hides.
"With more crossings and increased total capacity, we are well positioned to support our customers during the busy autumn and winter season.”
The route will also allow for increased freight traffic between the two ports.
Currently, information on the third ship to be added to the roster is not yet known, however the ferry will be equipped to carry foot passengers alongside vehicles including cars, caravans, and motorhomes.
