France is first to help Greece

France is expected to be the first EU country to adopt into national law an aid package planned out in July

FRANCE will be the first EU country to adopt into its national law the aid package worked out for Greece, says Economy Minister François Baroin.
The aid package, agreed by heads of state and government in July, will be validated along with various “austerity” measures in the finance law currently being examined by parliament.
France wanted to pass it as soon as possible so Europe can act speedily to help, but some other countries are said to be dragging their feet.
Mr Baroin said he trusted Greece to adopt the economic policies which are necessary as a condition of the international help it will receive.
