French police issue national alert over abduction of girl, 12, from Orne

Police are searching for 34-year old man they believe responsible for kidnapping

France’s Ministry of Justice has raised a national alert after a 12-year old girl was kidnapped in northern France yesterday evening (September 24).

The ‘dispositif Alerte enlèvement’ (abduction alert) was raised this afternoon after Lucie, 12, disappeared in Dompierre, Orne (Normandy). 

Authorities are searching for a 34-year old male in relation to the abduction. 

The girl, aged 12, is “1.63 m tall, brunette with long, slim hair [and] abducted in Dompierre, Orne, near 3 rue Berrier… around 10:30 p.m,” the alert states. 

The girl “has a discreet scar over her left eye," and she is "wearing a gold signet ring on her right hand and a pink wristwatch," as well as "gray jogging pants, a beige sweatshirt, and slippers.”

Authorities believe the man reponsible is Charles Foury, 34, is responsible. 

“A Caucasian male… He is wearing fatigue trousers, safety shoes, and a red and black jacket," the ministry said in a statement. He is believed to be driving a dark gray Citroën C5 with registration CF-109-ZL.
