Has Pret done its market research?

Chain claims France has no equivalent of triangular sandwiches

I HAVE fond memories of Pret a Manger (“Food for thought”, February 2011), but I don’t give much for their chances in France if they rely on market research that claims France has no equivalent of triangular sandwiches.

It must be a good 20 years since I first encountered one in France at Charles de Gaulle airport (it was predictably dreadful). Today they are to be found among the snacks inevery supermarket in the land.
