Hollande lookalike causes hilarity
A Socialist activist has a hit on the Internet with an image of a priest who looks like the French president
A SPANISH priest who is a François Hollande lookalike has caused amusement on Twitter after his picture was re-tweeted by a Socialist activist
Popular TV priest Javier Alonso could easily be taken for the French president, with a similar round face, brown eyes and large glasses - if it were not for his long flowing locks.
Opposition UMP activist, Alice Hamel, came across the “lookalike” while watching Spanish TV and sent a screengrab on Twitter saying she had found “a Spanish Hollande”, however it attracted little notice until the image was sent out again by a Socialist, Amine El Khatmi, when it was re-tweeted 2,000 times. El Khatmi (user Amk84000) tweeted that “I’ve been shown a Hollande lookalike on Spanish TV – I’m laughing my head off.”
Since then numerous internet users have been amused by the resemblance between the two men.
Asked what he thought about being compared to Hollande, Alonso, who has his own Sunday show on Spanish religious channel 13TV, told Le Parisien “It’s the opposite. It’s him who looks like me.”
Online videos of him include this one, on a TV show: Lookalike or this one of him taking mass: Mass
