Jail for Paris airport thief

A Briton reported to have regularly stolen from bags at Charles de Gaulle has been sentenced

A BRITISH thief in the habit of stealing at Charles de Gaulle airport has been sentenced to a year in prison after being caught red-handed.

“John”, in his 40s, is reported to have been flying London to Paris twice a month so as to look for bags to steal from, mainly in terminal 2C.

He would then discreetly empty them of valuables, such as €70,000 in cash from the baggage of the Prime Minister of Chad as well as mobile phones or laptops.

He would sometimes spend a night in an airport hotel before flying back with his haul, said RTL.

He was arrested after being found with a suitcase belonging to a traveller from Cameroon.
