Masks at work mandatory in France from September
Employment Minister Elisabeth Borne confirms new regulations will come into force on September 1
Masks will be mandatory in the workplace from September 1, Employment Minister Elisabeth Borne has confirmed.
As reported, Ms Borne’s plans include making masks mandatory in meeting rooms that do not have natural ventilation and areas in workplaces where people circulate, such as open offices.
She also encouraged companies to continue to allow their staff to work from home wherever possible.
Unveiling the plans, Ms Borne said changes to current guidelines would be made based on “what [the government] has been able to observe in professional clusters”.
The rules do not include sole-occupancy offices, but will be enforced in areas where staff are likely to cross paths.
