MPs debate new Brexit poll today
Today British MPs will hold a debate at the Houses of Parliament on whether there should be a new Brexit referendum
The debate, which can be watched live at parliamentlive.tv, will consider whether there should be a referendum on the final ‘exit deal’, with options including leaving with the deal, without the deal or remaining in the EU.
It is being held after a petition to the government and parliament gained nearly 138,000 signatures.
More than 100,000 triggers a debate, which in this case will be a ‘Westminster Hall’ one – held in a chamber where MPs meet to discuss important issues but without holding a final vote or passing a law.
