No TGV tickets for south-east

SNCF stops selling reservations from Paris to Marseille to give priority to stranded passengers who have already booked

THE SNCF has stopped selling TGV tickets between Paris and the south-east of France due to the long-running strike by drivers and conductors.

The company says no more reservations will be allowed until at least Sunday, to give stranded passengers who have already booked the chance to get to their destination and find a seat.

Most of the TGVs running this weekend between Paris and Marseille this weekend are nearly full due to recent cancellations.

Negotiations between unions and the SNCF have begun in some regions, including Paca and the Midi-Pyrénées, as the strike enters its ninth day.

The rail operator has proposed a round-table meeting with all unions on April 21.

Today 82% of TGVs are running, 91% of Transilien trains in Paris, 79% of TER services and 61% of Corail trains.
