Pumpkin soup packs recalled in France

The soup, named “velouté de potiron (cream of pumpkin)”, is sold under the Liebig brand, by European group Continental Foods.

The recall concerns packs of the soup sold in 1 litre boxes, and those sold in packs of two litres (2 x 1 litre boxes). They are most often sold in Cora convenience stores.

According to a report in newspaper La Voix du Nord, the batches concerned are those with the numbers J225 or J226, with the barcodes of 3036810350278 or 3036811357764, and a use-by date of 11/2020.

The report said: “[These products] should not be consumed, and should be taken back to the original point of sale for a refund or an exchange.”

Continental Foods is a European manufacturer, and employs around 1,000 people across Europe, including at two sites in France; one in Liévin (Pas-de-Calais) and another in Pontet (Vaucluse).
